The past week had a number of organizations marking the 4 year anniversary of IPv6 launch day. A number of articles highlighted the increasing density of IPv6 deployments. Comcast also had a presentation at the recent RIPE meeting in Copenhagen where they highlighted some of their IPv6 statistics.
A few notable statistics from my perspective:
- Google reports that 12% of all its traffic is now IPv6 (copy)
- Akamai shows a number of the largest providers getting close to 50% IPv6 availability
- APNIC labs shows that the US currently has 33% capability rate
- Comcast reports that 98% of their CPE devices are now IPv6 only, 25% of all traffic is IPv6, and at some exchange points IPv6 is now about 50% of traffic exchanged (copy)
